A few months ago I went through a really rough spot... like REALLY rough. I pretty much could not function as a human for a while. But I somehow still managed to do art every day. Anyway, this comic is about a moment that happened when I was having a particularly hard time, and my wonderful cat (who has been in my life for 16 years) decided to be even more wonderful.
This got really popular on Tumblr and as of now has over 100,000 notes, which totally blows my mind. I've gained a ton more followers and friends, and am so grateful for every one of them! It's just kind of ironic that it all happened because I was a sad little girl with a lovely companion.

Having recently lost my best buddy (Pantera), this resonates with me. He was my shadow, my velcro kitty, and I miss him terribly. A former feral, he attached to me from the beginning, and I to him. He was always there. He had his quirks, as cats do, but one in particular that I had never experienced before....During the summer when I'd be working outside, close to sunset he'd start fussing at me, meowing, circling my feet, and herding me towards the house. He'd have a fit if I wasn't inside at dark. I guess he felt the need to keep me safe. lol
And when I'd cry, he'd be right there. Just like this.
